 Information on laser treatments can often be misleading. Other laser companies may advise you that 3 to 4 treatments are required for complete hair reduction. Irrelevant of the type of laser used, this is rarely the case . These offices know very well that you will have to add expensive supplementary treatments to complete the procedure. Factors that affect results

 Due to the natural hair growth cycle, a series of treatments is always necessary to achieve hair reduction. The following is a guide to help you determine the number of treatments needed.
  • The general rule is the bigger, coarser, and darker hair is destroyed more rapidly, because they absorb more of the energy from the laser.
  • The areas that are shaved regularly respond better. The laser treatment is slower and requires more treatment on hair which are not growing, or hair that are small, fine, and light.
  • People who shave frequently between laser treatments increase the efficiency and speed of treatments.
  • The tolerance of each individual affect the results. Using an anesthetizing cream (Emla) for people who are sensitive helps increase the parameters of the treatment, and can help decrease the number of sessions needed, as well as improve comfort.
  • Treatment on the face requires 1 to 2 more treatments.
  • In general, the paler the skin, the more rapidly results will be obtained. People with dark complexions, or with a dark tan will need more treatments. The efficiency of the laser must be reduced, because the energy utilized is decreased to protect the skin. This is true of all lasers on the market, even those suited for all skin colours.
  • Lastly, the results with white and blond hair are limited and clients must be informed. Our laser technician will assess you during your complementary session and inform you of the expected results.
